Nurse Practitioner & Founder of Lumen Integrative Health
Meet Hannah
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valdosta State University in 2010 and spent ten years practicing as a registered nurse, where I witnessed firsthand the impact of meaningful patient relationships and education. I later completed
my Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, specializing in Family Medicine, graduating in 2021.
Over the past several years, practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I repeatedly encountered patients searching for quick solutions to problems that ran much deeper. Many were struggling not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. I often felt the most meaningful intervention I could offer was time; time to ask better questions, to look for root causes, and to truly understand the person in front of me. Yet in the traditional healthcare model, time is often the one resource in shortest supply.
Lumen was born from a desire to practice medicine differently, to create space for thoughtful care, deeper investigation, meaningful education, and true partnership.
Why Lumen Exists
I started Lumen because I saw a gap in modern healthcare. Too often, patients feel rushed, unheard, and reduced to symptoms. Insurance-driven systems prioritize volume over relationship, prescriptions over prevention, and short visits over meaningful conversation.
Through Direct Primary Care, I’ve created a model that allows for time, access, and true partnership. My approach combines evidence-based medicine with thoughtful root-cause investigation and patient education. I care deeply about prevention, metabolic health, hormonal balance, and helping patients build sustainable habits that support lifelong health.
Beyond labs and prescriptions, I believe healthcare should recognize the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
As a Christian, I believe every person is created in the image of God and carries inherent dignity and worth. That conviction shapes how I practice medicine. You are not a diagnosis, a number, or a problem to solve. You are a person deserving of careful listening, honest guidance, and compassionate care.
Why the Name “Lumen”?
The name Lumen comes from Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Gospel of Matthew 5:16
As a Christian, this verse shapes how I approach both life and medicine. My desire is to practice with integrity, compassion, and excellence in a way that reflects Christ — not drawing attention to myself, but pointing to Him as the true source of healing and life.
Patients of all backgrounds are welcome, and I am committed to caring for every person with dignity and respect.
